Sometimes I think that a more fitting name for Musings from Providence might be “What Did Grace Spray Paint This Week?” Over the winter I had been painting in the unfinished section of my basement- I am shocked and relieved that I did not get poisoned from the fumes. Yesterday, I spread out a wide drop cloth in the backyard, and assembled a cornucopia of objects from frames to trays that I thought would be better if they were a color other than their original. Lately I have been on a gold and white kick, and I also pulled out some hot pink and chartreuse paints to freshen up a few items.
I had been on the hunt for a tray to assemble items on as a centerpiece. I opted for this cheapie one. The bottom is not secure enough to carry heavy things around, but as long as it is sitting on the table, it shouldn’t be a problem. I revamped the plain plywood with two coats of gold spray paint and three coats of hot pink acrylic around the edges, sealing it with a coat of spray gloss. Finally I wrapped the handles in jute to give it a more rustic look.
I have already piled this up with jars of candy and small succulent plants, and I love how the pop of pink accents the gold. Loving this summery refresh in the kitchen!
