Some nights when I am done with work and dinner has all been cleaned up, I would really love to collapse in bed and return to whatever my binge-watching du jour is (what to do now that I am done with House of Cards!) but I feel an overwhelming need to execute something blog-worthy from my crafting shelves. Last week, the product of one of these sessions was this studded cell phone case.

Using leftover grommets from my jewelry tray, I hot glued the studs onto the back of a transparent cell phone case that my mother found in a dollar bin in a stacked pattern, inspired by some posts I have seen previously on I Spy DIY. It wasn’t until I was halfway done that I realized the case was intended for an iPhone5, while I am in the stone age with a 4S. Still happy with how it turned out, albeit slightly crooked, and I found it a good home.

Have you made your own cell phone case? Perhaps an experimentation with the adorable new cross-stitched phone cases that I have been seeing lately? Send me a link!
