Well all, as the candies deplete themselves and the last of the apricot bread I carefully smuggled home without being crushed starts to go stale, it has really settled in that we are back from our glorious trip. I don’t know when the next time will be that I make it to Vienna. It will likely be longer than 4 years, as Brent and I have lots of other places that we are eager to visit, but what a wonderful time it was.

In this post, you will find a few shots from Salzburg, scenes from the Belvedere Palace, taken after I was shooed away for trying to take a picture of a Klimt painting, and a certain apartment building that many of my WU friends may recognize as a beloved home away from home!

For those of you who have never been to Vienna, or are considering locations for your next trip, I hope that these postings have may have persuaded you a little bit to consider Austria. It is a beautiful country, with incredible combination of food, arts, and culture that are unrivaled. Sure, folks may not say thank you if you hold the door for them. But hey, there are worse things in life, yes?

And finally, tschuss!!

  3. Oh indeed Vienna is a breathtaking place! I guess one of the things I love most there is the vast coffee tradition it has. I can lose several hours relishing in a divine cup of coffee, thinking of everybody who has been there before me (like Freud). It has such an enchanting spirit!
Lovely photos, I never get tired of daydreaming about one of my favorite cities in the whole wide world!
