I love to eat out. Sometimes, my budget even lets me go beyond ordering $2 nime chow from Apsara. Although I have been fairly adventurous with my taste buds in my last year in Providence, I have managed to fall into a pretty consistent restaurant rut. Luckily, the wonderful Lisa Paratore, owner of Homestyle on Westminster Street, pointed me towards the Providence City Dining Cards.
For $20, you get a deck of 50 dining cards (well, 49 now that Tazza closed on New Year’s Eve. I would like a refund for that card). Each card is a coupon for $10 off a $30+ bill at the given restaurant. Unfortunately, the coupons are only good on food, not alcohol, so do not plan on using this to soften the financial blow on your twelve bar crawl- I am looking at you, Eric.
Pick up your own City Dining Cards at Homestyle, on sale now! While you are at it, you are bound to find some other tsotschkes that you cannot live without, like Fishes Eddy glasses, a Karon family favorite.
