DIY- Handmade Holiday Cards

Last year, I went absolutely nuts buying supplies to make holiday cards. I spent an unreasonable amount of money on stamps, glitter glue, papers, and scrapbooking materials. I made a huge stack of cards, which were promptly returned to my crafting bins and forgotten about. There they remained for a year. One of my resolutions for 2013 was to send out more letters to family and friends. Is there anything better than receiving mail- particularly when it is not the cable bill or catalogs from your apartment’s previous tenant?

photo(1)This was the favorite card I made this year. After finding an old atlas in the back of my car, I decided to cut it apart to make cards out of for friends and family further afield. This one does not properly represent the distance between Midland, TX and Providence. Show your long distance loved one that you are thinking of them this holiday with a similar card!

Only a few days left until Christmas and I still have shopping to do. For those who are taking the week off, a wonderful break! For those like me who are out of vacation time, hang in there a few more days.
